About Russell

His interest in photography and videography started at school and he began developing his own B&W prints at the age of 8. Russell believes that the power of story-telling through imagery is unsurpassable and being able to share people's experiences and emotions is a craft that he is passionate about. He continues to develop & hone his skills whether it be through film, television or multimedia. He has a typical Hawkes Bay hill country farming background and these stunning surroundings helped nurture his interest in visual media.

What he does

Over the last couple of years, as a Director of Still Moon Productions, he has been heavily involved in shooting everything from beauty pageants, glamour , weddings and corporate videos. He has a huge breadth of knowledge and imagination and tailors his shoots to the individual client's needs while also working in drama and documentary.

What he loves doing

He loves Jethro Tull (not that he's modelled his appearance on Ian Anderson!). He's an avid supporter of local film competitions and has been involved in both V48-hour marathons and currently Tropfest. These competitions inspire creativity, imagination and innovation, which he thrives on.
